Brake Transmission Shift Interlock Actuator

  1. Pull out tab on adjuster block side of Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) actuator. Press on adjuster block to compress internal adjuster spring and disengage adjuster teeth. Slide adjuster block as far away from solenoid as possible. Lock adjuster block in place by pushing inward on tab.
  2. Check BTSI operation. Actuator must lock gearshift lever whenever steering column is in Park. When trying to shift from Park with ignition switch in RUN position without brake pedal depressed. Ensure gearshift lever releases with ignition switch in RUN position and brake pedal depressed. Readjust if needed.
