Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Record all preset radio stations.
    2. CAUTION: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.
  2. Remove the battery.
    1. Remove the battery cover.
    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    3. Disconnect the positive battery cable.
    4. Loosen the battery hold-down screw and remove the battery.
  3. Remove the battery cooling box.
  4. Remove the battery tray bracket.
  5. Disconnect the wiring harness from the output shaft speed sensor.

    IMPORTANT: Do not damage the output speed sensor or transaxle case.
  6. Remove the output speed sensor bolt (61).
  7. Remove the output shaft speed sensor (62) and the O-ring (63).
