Inspection Procedure

  1. Remove the seat from the vehicle.

    Place the seat on a clean surface, with the seat facing right side up.

  2. Raise the rear of the seat until the seat back center of gravity passes through vertical and the seat back begins to fold.

    The inertia seat back lock should engage allowing only a few degrees of travel.

  3. If the seat back inertia lock did not engage, replace the inertia lock. Refer to Inertia Latch Replacement .
  4. If the inertia has properly engaged, activate the release lever (2) and allow the seat to fold forward.
