Removal & Installation (Side Impact)

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
  2. Remove applicable front seat. Remove finish covers, recliner covers and recliner bolts from seat frame. Remove "J" clips from seat back. Make note of wire routing for installation. Remove screws securing side impact air bag module to seat back. Remove side impact air bag. See Fig 4.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Ensure wiring is routed correctly. Tighten seat mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Activate air bag system.
