Removal Procedure

NOTE:
When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.
- Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Pull back the rear compartment trim panel. Refer to COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT -- REAR .
- Remove the bolts from the rear bumper fascia.
- Remove the nuts from the rear bumper fascia.
- Remove the push-in retainers from the splash shield.
- Remove the license lamp. Refer to LICENSE LAMP REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia using J 38778.
- Remove the rear push-in retainers from the rear bumper fascia to the rear end panel using J 38778.
- Remove the rear bumper fascia from the vehicle.
