Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the rear seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear .
  2. Remove the seat back frame (1). Refer to Seat Back Frame Replacement - Rear (AQ4 Captains Chair)  or Seat Back Frame Replacement - Rear (AT5 - 60/40 Split Bench)  or Seat Back Frame Replacement - Rear (AM9 - 50/50 Split Bench)  or Seat Back Frame Replacement - Rear (Rear AL4 Rear Bucket) .

    Important:  The recliner mechanism is an integral part of the seat back frame. Replace the entire seat back frame if the recliner mechanism requires replacement.

  3. Remove the recliner mechanism (2) and the seat back frame assembly (1).
