Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the third row 50/50 split bench seat. Refer to Seat Replacement - Rear .
  2. Remove the head restraint. Refer to Head Restraint Replacement - Rear Seat .
  3. Remove the rear seat back finish panel. Refer to Seat Back Filler Panel Replacement - Rear .
  4. Separate the J retainer (1) from the bottom edge of the rear seat back cover (2).
  5. Remove the rear seat back recliner cover. Refer to Seat Back Recliner Cover Replacement - Rear .
  6. Remove the rear seat back cover and foam away from the recliner to expose the recliner bolts.

  7. Remove the recliner bolts.

  8. Separate the rear seat back from the rear seat cushion.
  9. Remove the rear seat back cover retainer rings.
  10. Separate the rear seat back cover away from the foam pad while separating the hook and loop retainers (1).

  11. Remove the rear seat back cover from the foam pad.
  12. Remove the rear seat back pad from the seat back frame.
