Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If SIR diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If SIR diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  2. Using scan tool, request SIR DTC display. If ignition voltage is 9-16 volts, go to next step. If ignition voltage is not 9-16 volts, inspect and repair battery and charging system.
  3. Using scan tool, request SPECIAL FUNCTIONS under INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER on scan tool. Go to WOW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER in OUTPUT CONTROL. Using WOW mode, turn IPC indicators on and off. If all IPC indicators function normally, go to next step. If all IPC indicators DO NOT function normally, go to step  5.
  4. Replace SDM. See SENSING & DIAGNOSTIC MODULE (SDM)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK .
  5. Replace Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC). See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER (IPC)  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
