Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If replacing the receiver dehydrator add the specified amount of PAG oil directly to the receiver dehydrator. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  2. Using a lint-free clean, dry cloth, carefully clean the sealing surfaces of the A/C refrigerant line and the A/C refrigerant component.

    Important:  Flat washer type seals do not require lubrication.

  3. Install new sealing washers for the receiver dehydrator.

  5. Install the receiver dehydrator to the condenser.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  6. Install the receiver dehydrator lower mounting bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  7. Install the receiver dehydrator upper mounting bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  8. Install the condenser. Refer to Condenser Replacement .
  9. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  10. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A.
