Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the HVAC module assembly. Refer to HVAC Module Assembly Replacement .
  2. Fig 1: Mode Actuator

  3. Remove the mode actuator.

  5. Remove the air inlet housing retaining screws.
  6. Remove the air inlet housing.

  8. Remove the right HVAC module assembly mounting bracket screws.
  9. Remove the right HVAC module assembly mounting bracket.

    Important:  The HVAC module assembly upper retaining screw is located under the right HVAC module assembly mounting bracket.

  10. Remove the HVAC module assembly upper retaining screw.

  12. Remove the HVAC module assembly to dash panel sound barrier seal.

  14. Remove the heater outlet duct retaining screws.
  15. Remove the heater outlet duct.

  17. Remove the heater core cover screws.
  18. Remove the heater core cover.

  20. Remove the heater core pipe retaining screw.
  21. Remove the heater core.

    Important:  The lower HVAC module assembly retaining screw is located under the heater core.

  22. Remove the lower HVAC module assembly retaining screw.
  23. Remove the HVAC module assembly lower mounting screws.

  25. Separate the upper and lower HVAC module halves.

  27. Remove the heater door lever.
  28. Remove the right-hand mode door lever.

  30. Remove the heater door.
