Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
IMPORTANT: The child seat tether strap attaches or anchors in two different ways. The tether strap attaches to the third row outboard lower seat belt anchor bracket or the third row seat riser depending on the seat configurations. Use the child seat tether strap only in the second row.
  1. Remove the tether strap spring clip from the anchor plate.
  2. Remove the anchor plate bolt and the nut.
  3. Remove the anchor plate from the bucket seat frame.

  4. Remove the tether strap from between the second row bucket seat cushion and the seat back.
  5. Remove the tether strap from underneath the head restraint if equipped.
  6. Remove the tether strap from the vehicle.
