Enabling the SIR System

  1. Connect the seat belt pretensioner - RF connector (3) located under the front passenger seat.
  2. Install the connector position assurance (CPA) to the seat belt pretensioner - RF connector (3).
  3. Connect the inflatable restraint side impact module - RF connector (4) located under the front passenger seat.
  4. Install the CPA to the side impact module - RF connector (4).
  5. Connect the seat belt pretensioner - LF connector (3) located under the driver seat.
  6. Install the CPA to the seat belt pretensioner - LF connector (3).
  7. Connect the inflatable restraint side impact module - LF connector (4) located under the driver seat.
  8. Install the CPA to the side impact module - LF connector (4).

  9. Connect the inflatable restraint IP module connector (1) located behind the RH insulator panel.
  10. Install the CPA to the IP module connector (1).
  11. Install the RH insulator panel.

  12. Connect the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector (2) located at the base of the steering column.
  13. Install the CPA (3) to the steering wheel module coil connector (2).
  14. Install the LH insulator panel.
  15. Install the SDM Fuse.
  16. Install the fuse block access cover.
  17. Staying well away from all inflator modules and pretensioners, turn ON the ignition.
    1. 17.1. The AIR BAG indicator will flash seven times.
    2. 17.2. The AIR BAG indicator will then turn OFF.
  18. Perform Diagnostic System Check - SIR  if the AIR BAG indicator does not operate as described.
