Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ensure that the retainer is approximately room temperature 22°C (72°F).
  2. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the area of the sliding door outer panel where the molding retainer will be installed.

    Important:  Do not touch the adhesive backing on the molding retainer.

  3. Remove the protective liner from the back of the retainer.
  4. Align the retainer to the lower edge of the sliding door outer panel.
  5. Press the retainer to the sliding door outer panel until fully seated.
  6. Install the side door molding. Refer to Molding Replacement - Body Side Door (Oldsmobile)  or Molding Replacement - Body Side Door (Pontiac) .
