Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important: 

  1. Remove the protective liner from the back side of the support.
  2. Use a heat lamp or heat gun in order to warm the door to a minimum of 21°C (70°F).

  3. Starting with the front hole, insert the support retainers into the holes.
  4. Press in the support in order to ensure a maximum bond to the quarter panel.
  5. Press in the center pins of the retainers.
  6. Use a heat lamp or heat gun in order to warm the door to a minimum of 21°C (70°F).

  7. Install the quarter molding to the quarter panel.

  8. Press the center flange of the quarter molding into the 2 outer retainers.
  9. Press the locating pins into the holes of the quarter panel.
  10. Press the center flange of the quarter molding into the remainder of the retainers on the quarter panel.
  11. Push the upper portion of the quarter molding inboard over the retainers.

    Important:  Do NOT touch the adhesive backing.

  12. Remove the protective liner from the back side of the quarter molding.
  13. Press the bottom of the quarter molding inboard in order to ensure a maximum bond to the quarter panel.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  14. Install the screws to the rear quarter molding.

Tighten 

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
