Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Use a J 25070  to warm the body panel if necessary.

    Important: 

  2. Do NOT touch the exposed adhesive tape with your hands.
  3. Do NOT allow any dirt or foreign material to touch the exposed adhesive tape.
  4. Remove the protective liner from the front of the molding.
  5. Position the molding to the body panel.

  6. Align the locating pins into the holes in the body panel starting with the front hole.
  7. Press the molding to the body panel while continuing to remove the backing.

  8. Hand roll the molding to the body panel to ensure proper adhesion.
  9. Ensure that the molding ends do NOT overlap the following components:
    • The door edge
    • The door edge guard
    • The lock cylinder
    • Body openings
  10. Inspect the molding ends for bonding.
  11. Hand roll the loose ends.
