Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Buick Regal and 2003 Buick Century. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the new O-ring seal. Refer to O-RING REPLACEMENT  .
  2. Install the accumulator tube.
  3. Connect the accumulator tube to the evaporator.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the accumulator tube to evaporator core block fitting bolt.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

  5. Connect the accumulator tube to the accumulator (2).
  6. Tighten the accumulator tube nut at the accumulator.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nut to 47 N.m (35 lb ft).

  7. Install the accumulator clip.

  8. Install the vacuum brake booster bracket. Refer to VACUUM BRAKE BOOSTER in Disc & Drum.
  9. Install the brake pressure modulator valve bracket. Refer to BRAKE PRESSURE MODULATOR VALVE (BPMV) BRACKET REPLACEMENT in Antilock Brake System.
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly.
  11. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to REFRIGERANT RECOVERY AND RECHARGING  .
  12. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A  .
