Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the sliding door inner trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Side Rear Door .
  2. Remove the sliding door water deflector. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement - Sliding Door .
  3. Remove the control rods from the sliding door outside handle lock cylinder.
  4. Pry the barrel nut out of the lock assembly and push the lock rod away from the sliding door lock assembly.
  5. Remove the sliding door lock module harness connector, if equipped.

  6. Remove the sliding door handle lock actuator screws.
  7. Remove the lock assembly from the sliding door.
  8. Remove the outside handle cable from the lock assembly.
  9. Remove the sliding door outside handle bolts.
  10. Remove the sliding door outside handle from the sliding door.
  11. Remove the outside handle cable from the outside handle.
