Sliding Door Detent Switch

The rear side door actuator control module uses the sliding door detent switch to determine when the door is latched, ajar, or open. The power sliding door detent switch is part of the sliding door latch assembly. The detent switch signal circuit is supplied 12 volts through a resistor within the module. When the power sliding door is open and the door switch plate plungers have made contact with the B-pillar switch plate pads, the detent switch signal circuit is pulled to ground. When the door latch makes contact with the striker and the latch moves to the ajar position, the detent switch signal circuit opens. As the door latch passes from the ajar position to the latched position the detent switch signal circuit is briefly pulled to ground.
