Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Lift Gate .
  3. Remove the liftgate latch retaining bolts.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the liftgate latch.
  5. Using a small flat-bladed tool remove the lock cylinder rod from the liftgate latch.
  6. Release the latch cable retainer and remove latch cable from liftgate latch.
  7. Remove the liftgate latch from the liftgate.
