Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar .
  2. Remove the front door opening weather-strips. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR OPENING .
  3. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  4. Remove the overhead console, if equipped. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead (Single)  or Console Replacement - Overhead (Dual)  or Console Replacement - Overhead (CF5) .

  5. Remove the dome lamp. Refer to DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT (WITHOUT U42) or DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT (WITH U42) or DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT (OVERHEAD CONSOLE DVD) .
  6. Remove the rear headliner trim finishing molding. Refer to Headlining Trim Finish Molding Replacement .
  7. Remove the upper pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Upper Pillar .
  8. Remove the body side rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Body Side Rear Upper .
  9. Remove the rear corner upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Corner Upper .
  10. Remove the reading lamps. Refer to ROOF SIDE RAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT .
  11. Remove the rear fan/temperature controls. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT -AUXILIARY .
  12. Remove the cargo lamp. Refer to CARGO LAMP REPLACEMENT .
  13. Remove the liftgate weather-strips. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE .
  14. Remove the roof auxiliary air outlets, if equipped. Refer to AIR OUTLET DUCTS REPLACEMENT -- AUXILIARY .
  15. Use J 38778  in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
  16. Push the headliner forward in order to release the locking tab at the front overhead console.
  17. Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
