Removal Procedure

- Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Windshield Pillar .
- Remove the front door opening weather-strips. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT - FRONT DOOR OPENING .
- Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
- Remove the overhead console, if equipped. Refer to Console Replacement - Overhead (Single) or Console Replacement - Overhead (Dual) or Console Replacement - Overhead (CF5) .
- Remove the dome lamp. Refer to DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT (WITHOUT U42) or DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT (WITH U42) or DOME LAMP REPLACEMENT (OVERHEAD CONSOLE DVD) .
- Remove the rear headliner trim finishing molding. Refer to Headlining Trim Finish Molding Replacement .
- Remove the upper pillar garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Upper Pillar .
- Remove the body side rear upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Body Side Rear Upper .
- Remove the rear corner upper garnish molding. Refer to Garnish Molding Replacement - Rear Corner Upper .
- Remove the reading lamps. Refer to ROOF SIDE RAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the rear fan/temperature controls. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT -AUXILIARY .
- Remove the cargo lamp. Refer to CARGO LAMP REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the liftgate weather-strips. Refer to WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE .
- Remove the roof auxiliary air outlets, if equipped. Refer to AIR OUTLET DUCTS REPLACEMENT -- AUXILIARY .
- Use J 38778 in order to remove the rear headliner push-in retainers.
- Push the headliner forward in order to release the locking tab at the front overhead console.
- Remove the headliner from the roof through the rear of the vehicle.
