Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the driver information center. Refer to DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER REPLACEMENT .
  2. Align the overhead console to the headliner.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  3. Install the screw to the front of the overhead console.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  4. Open the rear storage compartment in the overhead console in order to access the holes for the rear mounting screws.
  5. Install the screws to the rear of the overhead console.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Connect the electrical connectors to the interior lamp/multifunction switch.
  7. Align the retaining tabs on the interior lamp/multifunction switch/reading lamp housing with the overhead console.
  8. Press up on the interior lamp/multifunction switch/reading lamp housing in order to install the housing into the overhead console.
