Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the exhaust crossover pipe.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  2. Install the exhaust crossover pipe nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe nuts to 25N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield.
  4. Install the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield bolts to 10 N.m(89 lb in).

  5. Install the thermostat bypass pipe. Refer to THERMOSTAT BYPASS PIPES REPLACEMENT .
  6. Install the inlet radiator hose to the engine. Refer to RADIATOR HOSE REPLACEMENT -- INLET .
  7. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  8. Install the throttle body air inlet duct.
