Removal & Installation (2.2L - VIN 4 & 2.4L)

  1. Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located in engine block, near oil filter. See Figure or Fig 1 . Turn ignition off. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disconnect harness connector from CKP sensor. Remove CKP sensor mounting bolt/nut and remove CKP sensor.

  2. Inspect CKP sensor "O" ring for wear, cracks or other damage. Replace as necessary. Lubricate NEW "O" ring with engine oil before installing. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten CKP sensor bolt/nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
