Fuel Tank Draining

WARNING:
Gasoline or gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
CAUTION:
Do not drain fuel through the fuel tank filler pipe in order to prevent damage to the fuel tank filler pipe check-ball.
- Release fuel system pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove fuel sender assembly. See FUEL SENDER ASSEMBLY . Use a hand-operated fuel pump device in order to drain the fuel through the fuel sender access panel.
- Install the fuel sender assembly. Remove the fuel filler pipe cap. Add fuel. Install the fuel tank filler pipe cap. Connect the negative battery cable. Inspect for fuel leaks using the following procedure. Turn ON the ignition, for 2 seconds. Turn OFF the ignition, for 10 seconds. Turn ON the ignition. Inspect for fuel leaks.
