Removal Procedure (3.8L)

  1. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to AIR CLEANER INTAKE DUCT .
  2. Remove the left inner fender brace (5).
  3. Remove the 2 screws (6) that are holding the air cleaner element housing to the powertrain control module (PCM) housing.

  4. Remove the air cleaner housing cover (1) from the air cleaner housing.

  6. Without disconnecting the PCM connectors, remove the PCM (4) from the air cleaner housing (3).
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly by pulling the housing away from the rubber grommets in the engine compartment.
