Power Antenna Inoperative (Convertible)

1 Did you perform the Radio/Audio System Diagnostic System Check? - Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Radio/Audio System

  1. Disconnect the power antenna harness connector.
  2. Test the battery positive voltage circuit at the power antenna connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Does the voltage measure near the specified value?
12 V DC Go to Step 3  Go to Step 6

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn ON the radio.
  3. Test the antenna relay coil supply voltage circuit input at the power antenna connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Does the voltage measure near the specified value?
12 V DC Go to Step 4  Go to Step 5 
4 Test the ground circuit at the power antenna harness connector for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Does the resistance measure near the specified value?
0 Ω Go to Step 9  Go to Step 8

  1. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  2. Turn ON the radio.
  3. Test the antenna relay coil supply voltage circuit output voltage at the radio connector. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Does the voltage measure near the specified value?
12 V DC Go to Step 7  Go to Step 10 
6 Repair the battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 13  -
7 Repair the antenna relay coil supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 13  Go to Step 10 
8 Repair the ground circuit of the power antenna. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 13  -
9 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the power antenna.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 13  Go to Step 11 
10 Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the radio.
Did you find and correct the condition?
- Go to Step 13  Go to Step 12 
11 Replace the radio power antenna. Refer to Power Antenna Assembly Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
- Go to Step 13  -
12 Replace the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement .
Did you complete the replacement?
- Go to Step 13  -
13 Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
Did you correct the condition?
- System OK Go to Step 2
