Camshaft Position Sensor: Removal

- The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is located at top rear of cylinder block. See Figure. Turn ignition off. Remove the accessory drive belt from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump. See appropriate POWER RACK & PINION article in STEERING. Disconnect the CMP sensor electrical connector. Remove the attaching bolt. Remove the CMP sensor. Inspect the sensor "O" ring for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
