Secondary Air Injection Crossover Pipe/Hose: Removal

  1. Turn OFF the ignition. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor harness connector. See Figure. Remove the air inlet duct from the MAF sensor and the throttle body. Remove the air cleaner element.
  2. Remove the ignition control module and coils. See IGNITION CONTROL MODULE  under IGNITION SYSTEMS. Partially drain cooling system. Disconnect the upper radiator hose from radiator and reposition.
  3. Loosen the quick clamps that hold the crossover pipe hose ends to the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) shut-off valves. See Figure. Remove the AIR crossover pipe fastener. Remove the AIR crossover pipe.
