Diagnostic Aids

NOTE: Use the Connector Test Adapter Kit (J-35616-A) for any test that requires probing the PCM harness connectors, electrical center fuse/relay cavities, component terminals and component harness connector. Using this kit will prevent damage caused by improper probing of connector terminals.

Reviewing the Failure Records vehicle mileage since the diagnostic test last failed may help to diagnose the condition. The information may help to determine how often the condition that set the DTC occurs. An intermittent may be caused by any of the following conditions:

Low system air flow may cause this DTC to set.
Excessive exhaust system back-pressure.
Moisture, water, or debris ingestion into the AIR pump.
Pinched, kinked, heat damaged, or deteriorated hoses or vacuum lines.
Restrictions in the pump inlet, duct, or filter.
