Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
  1. If removed, install the oil cooler hose fitting.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the fitting to 19 N.m (14 lb ft).

  2. Install the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and oil cooler inlet hose to the oil cooler hose fitting.

  3. Connect the oil cooler inlet hose clamp and the oil cooler. Ensure that the oil cooler seal is in place. Coat the seal with engine oil.

  4. Install the oil cooler connector.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the connector to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).

  5. Connect the oil cooler outlet hose to the oil cooler.

  6. Install the oil filter. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .

  8. Connect the knock sensor electrical connector.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM .
  11. Add engine oil as necessary. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
  12. Inspect the oil cooler for leaks.
