Removal Procedure

- Remove the throttle body air inlet duct.
- Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - Left or ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - Right .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
- Remove the catalytic converter pipe from the engine right side exhaust manifold. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPLACEMENT .
- Remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT - ENGINE .
- Remove the engine mount bracket-to-oil pan bolts.NOTE: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil pan and the jack support.
- Insert a block of wood between the utility stand and the oil pan.
- Use the utility stand in order to raise the oil pan.
- Remove the engine mount upper nuts.
- Remove the engine mount bracket from the engine mount.
