Removal Procedure

  1. Open the support the hood.
    NOTE: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners to panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage
  2. Place the protective coverings over the adjacent body panels.
  3. Raise and support vehicle. Refer to LIFTING AND JACKING THE VEHICLE .
  4. Remove the front tires and wheels. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the cruise control module, if equipped, from the left fender. Refer to CRUISE CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT .
  6. Remove the front turn signal/side marker lamp. Refer to HAZARD AND TURN SIGNAL FLASHER REPLACEMENT (PONTIAC) .
  7. Remove the fender splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Wheelhouse  for Oldsmobile only.
  8. Remove the front fender liner. Refer to Fender Liner Replacement .
  9. Remove the fender to front bumper fascia bolts. Refer to FASCIA REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUMPER (PONTIAC) or FASCIA REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUMPER (CHEVROLET) or FASCIA REPLACEMENT - FRONT BUMPER (OLDSMOBILE) .
  10. Remove the fender to fascia bolt at the lower door hinge pillar.
  11. Remove the fender bolts from the rear edge of the fender at the door hinge pillar.
  12. Remove the fender bolts from the upper edge of the fender.
  13. Remove the fender form the vehicle.
