Oil Life Left

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Pontiac Montana, 2002 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2002 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Oil life left percent is based on the information it receives from a class 2 message from the PCM. The IPC displays the current percent of the GM Oil Life System in the trip odometer display. When the oil needs changing the change oil indicator in the message center turns on. When the engine oil is changed the oil life left percent needs to be reset in the trip odometer. Press and hold the trip reset button for 1.5 seconds until 100 percent is displayed in the trip odometer.
