Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS REPLACEMENT - On Vehicle .
  2. Remove the knee bolster. Refer to KNEE BOLSTER REPLACEMENT .
  3. Disconnect the park lock cable assembly (1).

  5. Place the steering column lock cylinder set in the OFF-LOCK position.
  6. Insert a small flat-blade tool into the slot on the electronic lock module assembly and push against the locking tab in order to remove the tab.
  7. Disconnect the automatic transmission shift lock control connector from the park position switch assembly.
  8. Slide the park position switch assembly off of the linear shift assembly.

  9. Remove the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column.
  10. Use a small flat-blade tool in order to pry the automatic transmission shift lock control from the steering column jacket assembly.

  11. Remove the 3 screws from the linear shift assembly.
  12. Remove the linear shift assembly from the steering column support assembly.
