Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Assemble - Off Vehicle

Align the block tooth on the race and upper shaft assembly (1) to the 12 o'clock position.
Put the lock cylinder in the LOCK position and remove the key.
A new inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil will be pre-centered.
If reusing the original inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil refer to INFLATABLE RESTRAINT COIL CENTERING - Off Vehicle (Column Shift And Floor Shift) .
Align the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil (2) with the horn tower sticking through the shaft lock shield assembly (1).

IMPORTANT: Seat the retaining ring (1) securely on the groove of the race and upper shaft assembly (2).

Install the retaining ring (1).
If you are using a new coil, remove and dispose of the orange tab.
CAUTION: Refer to SIR INFLATOR MODULE COIL CAUTION .

Install the wire harness assembly (4) into the wire harness strap (5).
Install the wire harness strap (2) into the steering column tilt head assembly (1).
Install the wire harness straps (3) onto the wire harness assembly (4).
Install the upper and lower trim covers. Refer to STEERING COLUMN TRIM COVERS - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
Enable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM .
