Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important: Do NOT place the fluid filler tube seal on the fluid filler tube when installing the tube or damage to the seal will result.

Install the fluid filler tube seal in the transaxle.
Position the fluid filler tube into the transaxle.

NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
Install the fluid filler tube bracket bolt through the fluid filler tube bracket.
Tighten

Tighten the bolt to 13 N.m (115 lb in).
At the top of the filler tube Install the retaining nut to the filler tube the EGR at the top of the filler tube.
Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to ENGINE CONTROLS - REMOVAL & INSTALLATION & OVERHAUL in Removal and Installation in Engine Performance.
Inspect for proper fluid level.
Inspect for fluid leaks.
