Removal Procedure

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE   . 
  3. Remove the liftgate handle molding. Refer to HANDLE REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE   . 
  4. Remove the nuts from the lock cylinder.

  5. Disconnect electrical connector, if equipped.
  6. Disconnect the lock rod from the cylinder.
  7. Remove the lock cylinder from the liftgate.
