Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the lock cylinder to the liftgate.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the liftgate lock cylinder retaining nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Attach the lock rod to the key cylinder.

  4. Connect the electrical connector, if equipped.
  5. Attach the lock rod to the latch.
  6. Install the liftgate handle molding. Refer to HANDLE REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE   . 
  7. Install the liftgate trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - LIFT GATE   . 
  8. Close the liftgate.
