Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seats. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - REAR  in Seats.
  2. Remove the rear quarter trim panel. Refer to TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT - REAR QUARTER LOWER   . 
  3. Remove the body pillar upper trim panel. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - UPPER PILLAR   . 
  4. Remove the front door sill plate. Refer to DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT (DOOR)   or DOOR SILL PLATE REPLACEMENT (SLIDING DOOR)   . 
  5. Remove the rear audio controls. Refer to AUDIO CONTROL REPLACEMENT - REAR SEAT (PONTIAC)  or AUDIO CONTROL REPLACEMENT - REAR SEAT (OLDSMOBILE)  in Entertainment.
  6. Remove the body side front trim panel retainers using the J 38778. 
  7. Remove the body side front trim panel from the vehicle.
