Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  When installing manual seat adjusters to the seat bottom frame, the right and the left seat adjuster sliding mechanisms should be parallel and in phase with each other.

After installing manual seat adjusters to the seat frame, inspect the operation of the adjusters.

  1. Install the seat adjuster (1) to the seat frame.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the seat adjuster bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

  3. Install the seat belt buckle with pretensioner. Refer to SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER in SIR.
  4. Install the finish covers. Refer to SEAT ADJUSTER TRACK COVER REPLACEMENT - FRONT   . 
  5. Install the front seat. Refer to SEAT REPLACEMENT - BUCKET   .
