Removal Procedure

  1. Use J 38778  to remove the push-in retainers from the engine compartment side rail.
  2. Use J 38778  to remove the push-in retainers from the front fender liner at the engine splash shield.
  3. Remove the front wheel speed jumper harness from the left engine splash shield. Refer to WHEEL SPEED SENSOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT  in antilock Brake System.

  4. Remove the front wheel speed jumper harness from the right engine splash shield. Refer to WHEEL SPEED SENSOR REPLACEMENT - FRONT  in Antilock Brake System.
  5. Disconnect the battery cable from the right engine splash shield. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE REPLACEMENT  in Battery.
  6. Remove the engine splash from the vehicle.
