Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. If you are replacing the hood scoop mounting bracket.
    • Install the hood scoop mounting template to the hood and tape into position.
    • Drill the mounting holes into the hood through the hood scoop mounting template.
    • Remove the hood scoop mounting template and any tape from the hood.
    • Using new rivets, Install the hood scoop mounting bracket to the hood.
  2. Position the hood scoop to the hood.
  3. Open the hood.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the hood scoop screws.

    Tighten  Tighten the hood scoop screws to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

  5. Install the hood insulator. Refer to HOOD INSULATOR REPLACEMENT   .
  6. Close the hood.
