Diagnostic Procedures

  1. Turn ignition off for 10 seconds. Start engine. Turn A/C button off on console. Using scan tool, monitor status of DTC P0645. If DTC P0645 has failed LAST TEST, go to next step. If DTC P0645 has not failed LAST TEST, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS  .
  2. Replace A/C relay in underhood fuse block with auxiliary coolant pump relay or known-good relay. Start engine. Using scan tool, monitor status of DTC P0645. If DTC P0645 has failed LAST TEST, go to next step. If DTC P0645 has not failed LAST TEST, replace A/C relay.
  3. Turn ignition on, with engine off. Connect test light between ground and A/C relay coil ignition voltage cavity. See Figure . If test light is on, check Dark Green/White wire for open. Repair as necessary. If Dark Green/White wire is okay, replace ECM. If test light is off, repair open in underhood fuse block circuit.
