- Turn ignition off for 10 seconds. Start engine. Using scan tool, and monitor status of DTC P0030 for 30 seconds. If this DTC ran and failed the LAST TEST, go to next step. If this DTC did not fail LAST TEST, problem is intermittent. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS .
- Turn ignition on, engine off. Check EMISS fuse (10-amp) located in underhood fuse block. Replace as necessary. Disconnect HO2S bank 1, sensor 1 harness connector. Connect a test light between HO2S bank 1, sensor 1 harness connector terminals No. 1 (White wire) and No. 2 (Light Blue wire). Start engine. If test light illuminates and turns off at least once every 10 seconds, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate and turn off at least every 10 seconds, go to step 4 .
- Turn ignition on, engine off. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and HO2S harness connector terminal No. 2 (Light Blue wire). If 2.6-4.6 volts are present, check HO2S connector. If connector is okay, replace HO2S bank 1 sensor 1. If 2.6-4.6 volts are not present, replace ECM.
- Connect a test light between HO2S harness connector terminal No. 1 (White wire) and ground. If test light is on, check Light Blue wire for open between HO2S and ECM. If wire is okay, replace ECM. If test light is off, repair open in White wire between HO2S and underhood fuse block.
