Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Use isopropyl alcohol to clean the area of the panel where the retainer will be installed.
  2. Use a J 25070  to heat the outer door panel surface to 27 - 41°C (80 - 105°F), if necessary.
  3. Ensure that the retainer is approximately room temperature 22°C (72°F).

    Important:  Do NOT touch the adhesive backing on the retainer.

  4. Remove the protective liner from the back of the retainer.
  5. Align the push-in retainers to the holes in the outer door panel.
  6. Press the molding to the outer door panel until fully seated.
  7. Press on the retainer center locking pins until fully seated.
  8. Install the molding to the side door. Refer to MOLDING REPLACEMENT - DOOR BODY SIDE   .
