Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the IP carrier to the body.
    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  2. Install the bolts/screws which secure the IP carrier to the body.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolts/screws to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the defroster duct. Refer to AIR OUTLET DUCT REPLACEMENT - DEFROSTER in Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  4. Install the center air outlet. Refer to AIR OUTLET REPLACEMENT - CENTER in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  5. Install the IP air outlet ducts. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) AIR OUTLET DUCTS REPLACEMENT in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  6. Install the A/C control module. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
  7. Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT in Steering Wheel and Column.
  8. Install the EBTCM module. Refer to ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM in Antilock Brake System.
  9. Install the DRL module. Refer to DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL) CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT in Lighting Systems.
  10. Install the body control module. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT in Body Control System.

  11. Install the wiring harness. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) HARNESS REPLACEMENT  .
  12. Install the instrument panel. Refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT  .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PROCEDURE in Battery.
