WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Saturn Vue. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

TP sensor 1 signal circuit is pulled to ground and TP sensor 2 is pulled up to 5 volts within the ECM. TP sensor 1 will display 0.0 volts and TP sensor 2 will display 5.0 volts when the throttle body electrical connector is disconnected.

The REDUCED POWER lamp will illuminate and the engine will default to one of the limp home modes.

Under certain conditions, the ECM will command the engine Off.

Using the Scan Tool monitor TP sensor 1 and 2 voltages while varying the accelerator pedal position. For approximate readings, see THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR VOLTAGE  table under DTC P1120: THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT.
