Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to DRAINING AND FILLING COOLING SYSTEM   . 
  2. Remove the left side diagonal Brace. Refer to BRACE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FENDER UPPER DIAGONAL - LEFT  in Body Front End.

    Important:  Use the J 38185  to gently release tension on the hose clamp until the hose clamp lock feature engages allowing removal of the hose.

  3. Release tension from the hose clamp at the radiator using the J 38185. 
  4. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the radiator.
  5. Release tension from the hose clamp at the thermostat housing using the J 38185. 
  6. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the thermostat housing.
  7. Remove the radiator inlet hose.
