Removal Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Montana, 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette, and 2003 Chevrolet Venture. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
Important: The strap that secures the coolant heater cord to the diagonal Brace is reusable. DO NOT cut this strap in order to remove it.
- Press the coolant heater strap retainer tab in order to remove coolant heater cord strap.
- Use wire cutters in order to remove the coolant heater cord upper straps from the engine wiring harness.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to JACKING AND LIFTING in General Information.
- Use wire cutters in order to remove the 3 coolant heater cord lower straps (1) from the engine wiring harness.
- Remove the right front wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION in Tires and Wheels.
- Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to SPLASH SHIELD REPLACEMENT - ENGINE in Body Front End.
- Remove the engine coolant heater cord from the engine coolant heater.
- Remove the engine coolant heater cord.
