Remove Procedure

  1. Remove the valve rocker arm cover. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - LEFT   or VALVE ROCKER ARM COVER REPLACEMENT - RIGHT   . 
  2. Remove the lower intake manifold. Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD REPLACEMENT - LOWER   . 
  3. Remove the valve rocker arms and pushrods. Refer to VALVE ROCKER ARM AND PUSH ROD REPLACEMENT   . 
  4. Remove the lifter guide bolts.
  5. Remove the lifter guide.

    Important:  Place the valve train parts in a rack in order to ensure that they are installed in the same location from which they were removed.

  6. Remove the lifters.
